Travel Instructions from the Commandant
Thanksgiving Travel: Cadets will be done
after 3:00pm on Nov. 20 The earliest flights they should attempt to make: DEN/7:00pm COS/6:00pm This allows
time for going back to their rooms to prepare to leave, catching the shuttle, travel to the respective airport,
getting checked-in, checking baggage and going thru security. Traffic can be a real issue on
I-25 with construction in COS and then the weather between COS and Denver. Christmas Travel: Break officially
begins on 20 Dec; however, cadets can depart after last final,
which will vary from one cadet to another.
The "formula" for scheduling your cadet's flight out of town, is to add 5 hours if you're
flying out of DEN, and 3 hours if you're flying out of COS. Example: if your Cadet's final ends
at 11am, the earliest flight they can make out of DEN would be at 4pm...and the earliest flight out
of COS would be 2pm.
Returning from Breaks: The Cadets usually must be back by 7pm
on the day of return. They said this is where they are real sticklers. If your cadet is delayed
by weather or other travel obstacles beyond his/her control....THEY MUST CONTACT THEIR CHAIN OF COMMAND
to let them know. ======================================
